Drying Wood

Kiln drying

After being cut, lumber needs to be dried before it can be made into that beautiful grandfather clock. Lumber that is going to be crafted into furniture or cabinets will need to have a moisture content of 6 to 8 percent .  Lumber with more moisture will have the project warping or splitting. So after the lumber is cut it should be air-dried and later put into a wood kiln to dry.  A kiln works by heating up the lumber or by dehumidifying the air.

We provide custom wood cutting, kiln drying and wood projects. No job too small!
